Default My new saddle bags... and help me plan my trip!

Sorry about the quality of the pics.. they didnt look that bad on my phone but they are waaaay out of focus...

I have been getting the busa ready for my first long trip... Something I have wanted to do forever, but never had the time.

Now I am unemployed I feel like its the best time in the world!

Here are the nelson rigg saddlebags I just picked up at the local dealer. They are the CL-1000 series..great soft bags! They come with a soft neoprene peice that protects the paint which I found very helpful. They fit like they are made for the busa!

I am planning on going south.. maybe towards the dragon... I live in williamsport, pa. I want to take about a week or two at most and just pace myself and have fun. I will not be camping but staying at hotels and such...

Anyone have any suggestions on where to go or want me to crash in their garage on the way?

Great bags, I too own a set. If you hit the Dragon, shoot for a weekday. Lots of company on the weekends

Sorry about the employment, have fun and be safe brother.

You should ride the blue ridge parkway from end to end too.

Since the weather is warm. Make the Great Lakes Circle Tour. Lots of great roads and scenery.

Watch the NPS PoPo on the Parkway if you haul the BRP. It's a GREAT ride and the lower section between Ashville and Cherokee will blow your socks off. Skip Skyline Drive since they charge you an entry fee and hold you back to 35 MPH. Pick up the Parkway south in Waynesboro if you want to run it from end-to-end.

If you don't take the parkway all the way (having done it a few times, I'm content skipping pretty much everything from Waynesville down past Ashville because the Piedmont is kinda meh and 45 MPH) but still want to head south, take 219 down through WV for a great stretch of road. Pick up I-77 to I-81 and take that to Atkins, VA, and get off on 16 South to Volney, VA. Pick up 58W and ride that to 91S just outside Damascus, VA. They call 58 the Curvy Road, and they're not lying. You won't make much time across this one. At Mountain City, TN, eat at the Tributary because it's frickin' awesome. Sweet potato french fries, yes please! Pick up 421W and head on over through Shady Valley and out to South Holston Lake. It's a GREAT stretch of road. Turn around and run it back to the Shady Valley Country Store and pick up a "Snake" sticker, then keep on going back east toward Boone, NC, and get on the Blue Ridge Parkway for the trip on down to the Dragon.

That's enough fun for a few days. After that, get a map and go nuts. If you're still in the Smokies the 27th-30th, I'll be there too.

No problem. I LOVE that ride. Have fun wherever you go and at least make efforts to be kinda safe.
