another TRE question...bear with me

I have the GIPro ATRE. I have the red wire connected to the red terminal on the battery..

question: is the GIPro ATRE drawing any current while the battery is off??? I heard to wire it to the fuse box but Im not confident enough to mess with the fuses and thought I'd hook it to the battery. I think it's ok because the GIPro doesn't light up while key is off and if I push the button on the bottom nothing happens so am I ok with it hooked to battery or not?

unhook it and throw it away,

or unhook it and hook a meter between it and the battery.
