Gonna be talking to the guy insurance adjuster today, and I was wondering what price I should be asking for. I have the 03 burnt orange scheme. Not much for aftermarket parts except for the K&N air filter. I got new chain and sprockets just put on as well.

I was think of asking for $6K since that is what I paid for it but I know I won't get that out of it. So hopefully it I can get close to $5500.

What do you guys think?

Get online and get the market value of your bike. Then you will have a baseline to start a point of negotiation. At least call your bank and ask them what its worth and the loan value.

I spoke with Progressive agent a few days ago in order to decide whether to go with full coverage or just liability. He explained that they take average between retail and trade-in value. For my '01 that would be the average between something like $5600 and $3800 which is $4700. Do the math for yours, and you will get a pretty good ballpark number.

Yours is 2 years newer, so $5500 seems about right.

NADA book value is $4,792 for an 03 but suggested list is $10,999
