For the period January 2010 to June 2010:

Total motorcycles sold in the USA = 254,382 down 17.3% on prior year.

Total motorcycles shipped by Harley Davidson = 112,720, down 15.2% on prior year.

Total motorcyles produced in Japan = 298,774, of wich 67.8% were between 50cc and 125cc.

Total motorcycles produced by Japanese manufacturer.
Yamaha = 94,673
Honda = 84,598
Suzuki = 67,364
Kawasaki = 49,169

Out of a total 129,141,982 commuters in this country (USA, 2003) 147,703 of them ride motorcycles to work regularly. That’s only .0011 percent. US Census Bureau.

Of all the motorcycles registered in the USA, (6,567,197) 4.3% of them are used for year-round primary transportation (282,389), with an additional 9.9% used seasonally for this purpose (932,542 total). Motorcycle

Conclusion: Harley must be doing something right? ???
I found out my Harley was good for something, killed a deer at 50 mph and it cost me $65.00 to repair the bike. :laugh:

US Census Bureau can't calculate percentage correct. Would you trust them with more complex things to figure out?

That would be 0.11% and not .0011% - a 100 times difference.

However, if another party made a percentage error, I'd have to restore my trust in the government. :rofl:

Statistics are useless unless the conclusions also fall into statistical category. I.e. they are useless for an individual because so many individual factors completely change the statistical conclusions for a specific person.
