is roughly 5k miles ok?

I changed to amsoil at around 5.5k miles on the bike. I'm at 10,600. Time to change it?

From my experience, I'd say yes. Mine's still smooth as silk with over 76K miles.

I use Amsoil as well as commute 120 miles a day to work. I change oil 5-7K as 90% of my riding is interstate.

5500 is fine, but that's just my opinion. My XX had an interval of 8k in the manual, and I put 100k grueling miles on it without any issues.

I use Amsoil full synth and change every 3K-4K miles, but I ride her hard and put her up wet.
