Fuel capacity?

the specs say the bike should have 5 gallons. But when my fuel guage is in the red zone and i go to fill it up, the pump says I've added 3.75 gallons.

is the fuel guage off, or is there really that much left in the tank after the needle drops?

anyone had this happen before?

My light goes on and I fill up . It takes exactly four gallons every time .
There's approx 1 gallon left in there.
Whether or not you'll be able to use all of it is another question ?

Sounds normal. The light should come on when there is 1 gallon left in the tank. I've been in the red before and the light not come on yet. Last time I was in the red and filled the tank, I put 4.2 gal in.

Mine holds 5.5 gals, BUT I never go by the Fuel Indicator. I say indicator because it sure isn't a guage since they are notorious for being WAY OFF. I just go by mileage by setting my trip meter which works out to be 160 city and 190 Hwy. Which leaves me with just over 1 gal left in the tank.

not CA. i think the difference is 5.3 vs 5.5 right? i wouldnt let it get that low anyway.
