How can a person determine if a bike is a K8 or K9?

10 digit from left to right in the V.I.D. number



one will be an 8 the other a 9


2010 I belive they started over in letters being the letter"A" for 2010

in addition to VIN stamped on the bike, DMV registration will also indicate model year of the bike. P.S. if plastics have NOT been swapped out, then colors also give clues: blk/orange; blue/gold only came out in '08. white/silver is '09 only
