Anyone ever used these plastics?

One of my friends went down today on his R1. He was asking me about the quality of the chinese plastics. I told him he might have some fitment issues, but if I remember right a few people on here have tried them. Can anyone tell me about quality and fitment and stuff? Here's a link to the ones he's lookin at.

Waste of money if your picky, buddy has some Fiat replica's on his R6, made a good 10ft bike, any closer you see the fitment issues.

If you get a set that fits right, shortly down the road your plastics will be chipped to hell from road debris. The paint/clear coat is very thin. But they are cheap in price.

Here's a link to a thread about "overseas plastics" not sure if it helps, but it seems to be what I remember always hearing about them......

https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/general-bike-related-topics/121945-hong-kong-plastics-pics.html

I posted that thread awile back, He ended up sending them back. It was going to take way too much adjustments to get them to fit and then there was going to be alot of stress on the plastics holding them out of mold or we were going to have to drill out new holes in them or bore the ones out that were there.

Now I have also heard of ones that worked, Stil not perfect, But at least were able to bolt up

My opinion, Just go with OEM off Ebay

I'd run them on the track. At $250 they are expendible. I don't know about them for everyday use. Be carefull of some of these sellers. They charge more for shipping than the sales price.

I recently had replace a fairing and bought an oem from an eBay store
Partsdepot and it was great and about 100$ cheaper than anything in town. I've seen those aftermarket kits before and I don't think it's worth it.

I have the red flame type on my busa (came with them), fitment isn't bad at all, I've put a couple of thousand miles on mine since I got it and don't see any more dammage from riding than my other bikes with OEM fairings show. I'm going to order a set for my VFR800 soon. (I've also had really good luck with Chinese wave rotors and taillight and my knock off Pazzos and adjustable rearsets are on the way:thumbsup:)
People on all these bike forums are fond of bashing the cheaper Chinese stuff, occasionally with good reason, most times not, it's normally just hearsay.:cookoo:

I agree. I just bought a cheap 24 dollor db windscreen with free shipping. I was surprised at how nice it was and how good the fit was.

You were the one I was thinking of that didn't have a problem with them.

The fitment greatly depends on the bike, I've seen some kits on Honda cbr bikes and they look good but I've seen some for Suzuki where fit like complete ass. I for one had one of those kits on my 2008 gixxer 750 and they fit and paint was like crap. I'm not sure how well the yamaha ones are but the Suzuki version is crap. I took that crap off the next week and put my stock ones back on. Oh and the fact it melted and caught fire that week despite having heat shields on.

Lovely ain't it??

my buddy slapped a set of these on his busa while waiting to figure out what he wanted for paint the are thin and crap his are melting despite the "heat shields" installed on the back waste of money try Yamaha R6/R1 Fairings - Aftermarket Yamaha YZF Fairings, YZFFairings.com least they are locally "usa" made i think but they do have a perfect fitmant guarantee

They may well be better quality, but line #1 of their FAQ says that they are imported from the east.

I extrapolated the URL and see that they have a sister site for the Hayabusa fairings too:

That seems like the last thing you should have to worry about when buying new fairings! What a melted mess.

I saw them on an R6 there was a little fitting problem , I would look for stock on ebay first

Big 2nd or check out the Yammy forums as many people sell their mint stock fairings when turn their bike into race fairings.
