Not talking about plumbers arse here. talking about the patches that are applied to the road. i dont know if they use this stuff all over the country but in the north east it used alot to fill in cracks in the road. no big deal when its cool but when it heats up its like hitting little oil slicks. has anyone ever gone down from them? they scare the crap out of me. they covered the road i take home from work with this crap i get the pucker up feeling a few time a day.

Remember, your tire will slide only as far as the tar strip you hit. Which is usually an inch or so!

That may be so but an inch at 60 or 70 mph feels like a foot.

Yes it sure does! LOL! But once you get used to it, it's not that big of a pucker factor!

Ever hit a pebble going around a corner leaned over? Same thing! Tire will hook back up once you clear it out!

Out here, we refer to them as "Tar Snakes".

Greasy little critters, aren't they? Scary, and enough to get you to choose another path.

Ride safe!

Yeah, I go thru the same thing here, but I'm like you, it makes me nervous, mostly on corners.!!
I just take it easy, that's all ya kin do..!!
