What gauge wire do you suggest using.

does the cranking amps of the second battery make much of a difference, i was hoping to go as small as possible (physical size).

We carry some batteries now that are 1 to 2.5 pds,can come with quick connect setups and lose less than 10% charge over a year..a bit expensive upfront but you shouldn't need a battery for a long time..
