Default pic from daily mountainbike crosstraining

just tried to take some shots of part of my daily singletrack mountainbike ride....about 12 miles, pics don't show the elevation changes very well. It sure helps me be a better Busa rider! Raydog

I've loved that bike since they came out with it around 99 , wow same time the Busa was made , hhmm

Wish I could afford one but all my extra cash goes to the busa . I haven't ridden mountain bikes since my last one was stolen about 6 years ago.

If you ever get the chance,, you should travel to Seattle with your bike and take in the under I-5 Colonnade purpose built track, obstacle and skills course!

Built by the people for the people. Trail:I-5 Colonnade - Evergreen Trail Guide

Just when you thought you were good!

Nice stuff Cookie....I am a pure Xcountry rider....a pretty good one too, but 62 years of being on this planet tends to keep me fairly conservative. What I mean is...NO 45 mph downhill singletrack and NO 8 foot jumps off slickrock tables! That's fer them 20 year olds! Now excuse me, I must go to the garage and work on my 170 hp track bike! (is there a contradiction in my life?)

Well, ever since I agreed to go on a cross country ride with a friend that's 18 years younger than me and a physical training animal....I haven't stopped! It's been 6 weeks now and it really does get easier....the way I tell is how I pull the same hills in higher gears now (used to be 1st and 2nd only!). That's one of the benefits of having the same route day after day.
June 6th we'll depart for an 8 day ride to the Grand Canyon (100 miles each day, using roadbike and one wheel trailer and sleep on the ground). That's why I'm pounding myself now! I really do notice that it helps with my physical relationship with the Busa, like I'm seldom uncomfortable, even with my rearsets adjusted for track use, that's why I keep using the "crosstraining" label, there really is something to it! Raydog

It's all in your spirit, Doyle! And you have it,, I can tell! And reaching outside of yourself to find the sanctity whether riding with someone else or by yourself gives you that edge over that person that only wishes he or she could do what you do!!

Stay sharp young man! 62 in just a number,, not an attitude!

If ever in Seattle, many of these trails are graduated, so whether novice or pro,,, you will have any area right for you!

Thanks for the kind words Cookie and thanks for the trail map, I printed it out. This coming summer I'd like to come up there and 1)visit Daniel (CloudNine) in Portland 2)ride one of those Pacific Northwest tracks 3)bring my mountain bike and explore 4)have a cup of coffee with some org folks!
