Default why does my engine shut off when i back the bike up
It has only done it a couple times. I changed the battery so i am puzzeled

you must not be reaching down and engaging it all the way into reverse first...

Welcome to the oRg, not being a smart arse, but are you sure you are not hitting the kill switch when you are holding the bars to pulls the bike backwards? We all make those sort of mistakes every now and then.

im betting the clutch needs bled and its in gear and when you are going back its similar to going backwards in gear with the clutch out and its enough resistance to stall the engine.

just a guess.
