42 Tooth Rear Sprocket

Hey All,

Quick question regarding sprockets. I've got a bone stock '04 with around 500 miles on it. I'm looking for a bit more low end and have heard good things about leaving the stock 17T front and bumping up the rear to a 42T. Question one, what's your thoughts? Question two, will I need a longer chain if I do this? I know this will make the front end a lot lighter during acceleration, but that's what I'm looking for, a bit wilder of a ride. I must be loosing my mind or something.

Your chain will be fine. 17/42 is good but 16/42 is better!!!

you can go a 44 but your wheelbase will be so short you will hate it

16-42 worked for me with the stock chain and it had plenty of room so 17-42 would work also.

Hey Hooken just curious if ya ever checked your milage on a decent ride after the switch mine i think is terible but i have no tuneing done yet i got abotu 25 mpg doing 80 to 85 how do you fair?
