Is it normal to hear the cam chain ten during hard acceleration and at highway speed?

honestly i do not know. i dont think i can hear it on my bike. i do know that a manual cam chain tensioner is a pretty common mod for the busa. esp for drag racing. someone else that knows more will chime in soon

It sounds like its coming from the right front. Does the clutch sound like a rattle?

Could be a bolt loose in clutch basket.

No it would not be normal to her the cam chain. If it was that loose or out of adjustment you would hear it at a idle also. Check for loose bolts verst from anything up front including your headers. Then listen very careful to your cam. If it sound like the cam get it fixed right away.

My gen II is a little noisy up top. Never heard a thing on the '06 at 36K miles. I'm hoping it's just the new head.

Do a search for that on the .org if you've never seen what it can do to your bike. I would check on that first. Good luck.

you would hear the cam chain at idle......not under acceleration. look somewhere else for your noise.

Normal at idle to be noisey , pull in clutch and noise is gone.
BUT not excessive noise when driving at speed as you stated.Check Clutch Basket

I had a clutch bolt back out on my 02 Busa. Take the clutch cover off and check it. Even if everything looks ok, It's better to be safe than sorry. It's not fun flushing metal shavings from your engine.
