had a strange one today, been for a run stopped after 50 mile for half hour and it was a real pig to start . once started she ran fine for 50 mile or so then every time i hit over 4000 rpm she cut out , just like someone had turned the key off , then would come back in with a bang. did this a few times then all seemed well. have had vapour lock issues in the past , any thoughts or ideas
would be appriecated :beerchug:

Is your kickstand loose? Wouldn't explain the hard starting, but could be the reason for the cutting off and back on. Hard start on a 99 could well be your fuel pump vapor locking.

I would suspect fuel pump in this case, but the details are limited. How many miles on that first edition ?

Check your tip-over sensor also. I had the bracket on mine break so it was basically flopping around and would sporadically shut off. It mounts to the pivot of the gas tank underneath the seat.
