Does anyone have a gear/speed chart for the Busa Gen 1 bikes? (1st Gear 0-35mph, 2nd Gear 35-50mph, etc). I know this varies but under normal riding conditions. Thanks,

18/40 was the way Suzuki had intended the Hayabusa to come into the States,, but they knew the thing would be too high strung. The speedo would have matched the actual, too.

copy and paste Cookieman

Okay, smarty,,, what is the inside diameter of the 99 and newer fork legs and when did they change and what year? Also, what was the OD of the top clamp and then the lower? When did it change and to how much?

 This will be good!

I'll take a shot .. the inside diameter of an individual fork leg is 12.7mm and there has been no change.

That was a fair guess. However, and maybe a first here on oRg,,,

2007-08 Hayabusa forks have 20mm ID cartridge
99-06 Hayabusa use 25mm ID cartridge
07-08 Hayabusa triples except 50mm OD top & 55mm OD bottom
99-06 triples except 50mm top OD & 54mm OD bottom

Strange that the stantions increased in size for the years 07 (end of GenI) and into the new year 08 (start of GenII) WITH,,, a decrease in size of ID with 07-GenII to 20mm from the GenI size of 25mm ID.

Obviously, they are learning new things about 'sticktion' and reduction in resistance.

Just some research I am doing on the differences between the GenI and the GenII front ends. I want the switch to the GenII front end to be thought out, thorough and not forced.

My second set was 17/38 in theory 207 topped out, and it corrected my speedo ...

what is stock gear set? And has anyone geared really tall before and got like 212 out of their busa.. if so? just curious how long it takes to get up to that speed i.e. 185-210mph?

Thanks

17/40...and no matter what gearing you run a stock bike won't do 200...a unristricted Busa will max out at about 193 or 194
