Speedometer reading slow

I have a 2008 and my speedometer is consistently reading 20mph slow (it reads 30 when I'm doing 50, reads 50 when I'm doing 70, etc.).

Any ideas?

What gearing are you running / tire size out back ? gen II is 18/43 stock reads about 7 mph fast above 50 mph . I run 19/43 and read .5 mph fast at speeds above 30 mph to 100 plus by GPS . for a slow reading you must be geared TALL or you have a broken speed sensor tab on the counter shaft sprocket
