    Question Auto Tune Question

    Hi
I have an 09 busa, the Auto Tune and the new PC.
Dynojet only make a universal model for all bikes at this time so i installed the new PC, i looked and my new exhaust's O2 sensor has a smaller fitting then the one which comes with the Auto tune (which i cant understand why they did that..anyway) The Auto-tune comes with this "adaptor" that u have to wield to my understanding onto the standard O2 sensor. By doing this in my mind im thinking im pushing the sensor out-ward more so will it read properly?
I really cant understand why Dyno just dont make it the same size as the standard.
In the instruction paper it says to drill a hole in the exhaust and install the Auto-tune.
Can someone with a better understanding explain what im suppose to do? I will not drill my new exhaust no way! But also if i do iwield and install the sensor will there be enough clearance?

What you will have to do is take the bung that came with the PC and your exhaust down to your local welder and have them either remove the one that's on there (or plug it) and weld the new bung on (or in another location).

    Without getting all technical....

The reason they are different sizes is because the OEM sensor (don't remember the model) is a more narrow-band sensor and won't give you the readings you need for tuning. It's the same reason we have been saying since day one that the bike won't map itself. The sensor won't give the ECU the correct readings fast enough to provide optimal fueling. The ECU is only programmed for certain variables to meet emission needs and not necessarily the best performance...

The new sensor is a wide-band sensor which will eliminate the lean/rich cycling that the OEM sensor attempts to do through the ECU and other things very poorly. There is a lot more to it than that but that is the quick and easy...

So to get the new sensor to work or adapt it to your exhaust you have to drill and weld the new bung. If it's installed correctly, you will have no problems. It is kind of a PITA but it's worth the trouble to get maximum tuning ability.

    Which exhaust do you have...?

If it's a Brock's or one of the others it may already have the correct size bung installed....

This is a little off subject, but is the auto tune good enough for a turbo set up?

    Thanks for the input
I have the Yoshiumra full system with the R77 muffler
As i mentioned i dont want to risk the drilling part on a new exhaust, reason being i dont trust most of the shops here!
Also I was worried about the clearance gap, ill look into it today though..
