For any of you mechanical people out there would this be as easy at it sounds? Just take the cover off, clean the bolt, put some thread lock on it, and put it back together with a new seal? If that is it I'll add it to my first service which I plan on doing myself.

Thanks,

I just did my 600 service this past Saturday. I guess maybe it can wait until the next or I'll have Suzuki do it.

I guess I will do this on my next oil change. I was thinking about doing the Brock's clutch mod anyways. Hopefully it doesn't mess up before then.

Since I don't have any super cement 1303, should I use the red or the blue loctite?

Agree, sounds like a 15 minute job and perhaps a new clutch cover gasket.

I would recommend that you do it to all SIX bolts

You're right, initially I thought there was only one bolt because of how the diagram was drawn but I do see that there are 6 bolts now. I still believe I can do this but my confidence level just went down a little!

It's a easy job...just do one bolt at a time

I've never taken the clutch cover off, is there oil in there?
Or other fliuds that would have to be drained and refilled?
Only have ~250 miles, was going to change the oil anyway and get all the metal shavings and crap out. Could do it then, or just wait until I take it in to Suzuki for the first service and let them do it.
If you just take 1 bolt out at a time, the springs aren't going to pop out are they?
Don't want to lose and eye, or a finger...

If you let the dealership do the first service I would just let them do this while they are there. You only have 350 more miles until you need it anyways so its not like you will be waiting forever to do it.

OK that's cool
I have to stop by there today anyway
One of those push plugs in my dash fell out the day I got it
one of the larger ones that hold the plasticin around the cluster
the center is about the size of a dime.
They said they'd just give me one, so I'm stopping by afterwork, I'll ask about the TSB while I'm there, see what they say

Before you take it in, make sure that they have a replacement gasket on hand.

I might just be Dumb but everytime i start my Busa from a cold start it makes a "ticking" sound as discribed in the Service Bulletin, and I only have 1,700 miles on mine. I have not taken it in yet but it is starting to drive me crazy, anythoughts out there?

Thank you, Sir!

If you are experiencing ANY noticeable clanking at all,, and are not sure as to how to do this,, take the easy route out and schedule the appointment!

I advise taking the lower panels off to expedite the job and reduce opportunities for scratching!

Unless it's baked on (pretty unlikely at low mileage) I highly see the need to replace a "good" gasket!

It may be easy to some, hard for others.

The hardest part will be holding the clutch sleeve to break the 'Clutch Sleeve Hub Nut'. Suzuki requires tool 09920-53740 to hold, break and tighten, however, it can be broke and re-installed with a air-gun. The only thing that takes a bit of savvy is the re-tightening. It needs to be torqued to 68.5 lb ft.

Is there a Clutch procedure thread here to link to rather than typing everything out verbatim?
