anyone know where i can get a blacked out taillight cover and rear signals and also do they make them for the front signals too and also how hard is it to install and post pics if u have them but i am not going to smoke the headlight i like the hid as bright as it can be so the cagers can see me

I test drove my First Busa this weekend...

The Stealer had a 2005 with 1300 miles on it.
He had it priced at $7999 last week, but when I came
in he said reduced to $6999 today. Then i mentioned
I had a bike to sell first, I probably wouldn't be able to
get the right money. So he make it worth my wild..
he'd give me $4500 for my 06 FZ1 and $4200 cash
and the 2005 is mine. Someone needs to help me with
the math here ( this was a Victory dealer).

But that's not what I came to talk about ( Arlo Gutherie).
I got to go out for about 25 minutes. I spent 10 minutes in
residential 0-30 mph seeing how it handled vs the FZ going slow.
The Busa is going to have 80 lbs extra
and more wheelbase. I only did a quick hop on the
interstate, checked out the power band up to 70 mph and
the rest of the time on 35-45 mph streets.

I loved having torque. The engine was sooooo smooth.
The FZ is pretty tame until 5K.

My bike will dyno like the Blue line in the first chart.

I wasn't concerned with the performance aspect as much as how well will the whole package work for me.

As far a handling goes the FZ feels better in the 0-30 mph
zone but also I am used to the FZ and I'm sure with
more saddle time, the Busa would be normal for me. Of course I don't ride these bikes to go 30 mph although I
think I might have more confidence with accident avoidance maneuvers ?? At 35-50 I couldn't feel the extra weight.

The Brakes seemed ok, I was slowing more weight and
I wasn't used to the bike so I was cautious with
most everything I did.

The next was comfort. The Busa was a lot more comfortable than the 2009 R1 I tested last month.
I have to think that Heli-bars and pegs will do it. On
the FZ you sit upright so it is not like most other
sport bikes.

Now my question is, How does a 2008 Busa compare to
a 2005?

Well went to Cycle Gear where if u r not 100% happy bring it back really works. So I had my Frank Thomas zipper jacket broke so I took it to cycle gear to have it fixed. And while I was there I saw a winter jacket which I liked so I got it. After few tests and returns I got the right size and jacket. I got the Tour Master Transition Series 2 in Bright Neon Green (because I have problems of people not seeing me, now its not a problem. But I got it and wow this is a warm jacket. I cant wait to ride when it really drops. And yes in AZ it gets cold too. But I also did an adjustment of the headlight and wow its like 100times better. I can see far and wide. My were too low. Now its just like my brothers older 2003 R1. :cheerleader:

Has anyone here done back to back testing with gixxer 1k short stacks?

Some say it helps and some say it does nothing at the track. Just looking for someone who has actually done the mod thier selves and picked up at the track after doing the short stacks.

Thinking of going to 64", whatcha think?

I pulled the chain off and pulled the wheel back to 64". Think it looks too long for the stock tail? Someday I want to get an extended tail, but nows not the time. Just trying to go faster with what I already have. Ill probably have to raise the tail just a bit to keep it off the tail light.

head gasket

I need new Tires on my 08 busa. I was thinking of going with the Avon Storm St Tires, Front & Back. Was wanting to hear from the riders that use them what the miles have been befor needing replaced. Also is there any change to going to a 200, such as ride, tire life, looks, ext ext. My tire miles have been in the 4000ish area. I ran the stock then a Q2. Im still runing the stock front with about 8500 miles on it. I dont do burn outs but I do excel fast alot and am a heavy guy. Plus 98% of my riding is upright highway. Thanks for the info.

Do I need to pay for a Tune with PC? or Can I do it myself?

I just bought a brand new 09 Busa. I put a Full System R77 on, and bought a power Commander. The dealership tells me I need them to tune, so that its right. They dont even have a Dyno. Their sister store does have a dyno, and I could take it there, but I think its like 270 bucks either way for installation, and Tuning. Isn't this pretty easy? or is it worth it?
