Gen II ECU Location

Under the driver seat.
Remove the visible allen head bolt on each side centered under the driver seat, it's held on by only those 2 bolts.
The ecu is clearly visible, and it's held down by a black rubber band.
The ecu has 2 plugs going into it, they have a standard push/click locks and remove easily.
I would disconnect the battery before disconnecting the ecu.
You'll see the battery under the driver seat too, it's also very easy to disconnect or remove.
You're also not an idiot, no such thing as stupid question.
Now would be a good time to learn to take the tail off, it can be done in literally 2 minutes, easy.
