Default H.I.D. What a difference!!!

I just finished installing my new H.I.D. low beam light... 35W, H7, 6000K for those who may ask. I can't believe I didn't do it before... I ordered it on HID Quebec - Système d'éclairage au xénon -Le prix le plus bas au Québec for 80$ and the guy delivered it at work 24 hours later!!! Can't be more happy! I have a black/blue 2k2 and didn't install any delay timer or switch.... at start up the light flickers a little bit but never went out... oh and the ballast is the thin one with a progressive startup illumination. So the light comes at full intensity after 10 seconds. It seems its less hard on the ballast and it may be why I don't need a switch or delay timer. Anyway here are the pics before and after... judge by yourself!

This is her:

Original halogen bulb:

And the new H.I.D. :

You see the black tape on the fence... this is the hot spot of the original halogen bulb as the wheel touch the fence.... then I backed up 30 feets and this is what it gives... the fence is 6 feets high as reference... do you think my new setup is to high? I don't want to blind everyone I encounter. Tnx.

This is Lamb's next mod! It really is a must-do. Riding with HID riders makes it obvious that the amount of light put out by the original, already smallish light, is inadequate.

It wouldn't be shocking if your light is too high Boo

If you're not going to install the delay, you might want to give it 5 or 10 seconds before hitting the starter. It may or may not save you.

Yeah!!! After looking at the pic a few time, I think too its a little bit to high. It's hard to adjust it when you get that amount of light right in your eye... the contrast was so intense between the fence vs the interior of the front of the bike where the adjustment screws are that I had to guess to find the screw... well, I think I'll lower it a bit...

Single best mod you can do if you do any night riding. Leave it pointed high until the local law says something as it makes people well aware of your presence, I have noticed since I have mine that people dont turn left infront of me nearly as much. Do the switchback mod too and you'll have even more light at the front.

Looks Great

I was told by a few people not to do it cause its harder to see during the day than a normal light. I have them in my truck and I dont think so just curious what others thought?

if you are changing your low beam, stay higher than 4300 as that is the same color as the sun and not very noticeable in daylight, you want to go with a 5000 or 6000 bulb on low beam...most people like to match their bulbs (both 6000 for example) if they do the high beam also but i went with the 4300 on the high beam as it is the brightest and i do a lot of night riding

I originally had a 6000 low beamm. I currently have an 8000 low beam. The 8000 is very blue, which goes with the instrament cluster lighting. My high beams are 5000, just because 4000 bulbs weren't in stock when I bought my kit.
