Default Dyno Tunning Help

Hi, I want to start by saying that I love this site. Well to start off, yesterday I had my first Dyno run. After looking through some of the posts here, I thought I was supposed to see some better numbers. But I am not sure what the numbers should be. Here is info on the bike. Its an 07 stretched out with a PC3 and muzzy full system 4-2-1. Besides that, everything else is pretty stock. I got a max power = 146.99 Max Tourque = 89.65.
Is this normal or should I be in the 150's or higher?http://www.hayabusa.org/forum/images...f/banghead.gif

It seems a little low, I would expect about 10 more HP...but dynos vary and it's a tuning tool. Don't get caught up in the hype, if your bike runs well, enjoy it

As stated, results from a dyno vary for many factors, even from dyno to dyno on the same bike.

Numbers seem a little low. Here is a 2006 Hayabusa with a KN air filter and a set of Yoshimura TRC slip-ons on our 2007 Dynojet 250i tuned in a climate controlled dyno room with a 17:1 air exchange per minute (optimal tuning enviroment), just yesterday.

Here are the numbers in SAE and STD...STD reads higher showing if the bike was ran in the exact conditions present in the dyno at the time the performance would be that on a track. But since the dyno is not a track SAE is the better standard to use for power.

Seems a bit low, but I'm far from an expert on the topic. The biggest improvement though on my bike was not the pipes or PC, it was the BMC filter.. just sayin'.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I had that feeling that the numbers were low. My air filter is the stock one, would the K&N or the BNC make such a big difference?

I am not too sure how to tell what Dyno information is, but the paper says CF: SAE Smoothing 5.The site also says it is a Dyno 250i with tuning link. Ken was a great guy to deal with and I thought his Pricing was very good, but I am new to the whole Dyno scene, so I am not sure what is a good Dyno and what is a bad Dyno.

The guy has a website, here it is tuning center

dyno sheet? Tuning link means the bike was tuned automatically by a computer program. We free-hand tune at HPC. He has the best Dynojet dyno out there. Was it hot out and was it in that trailer? How does the bike feel?

BMC will make a difference... K&N made no difference. Mine went up 6 HP with the BMC. Also, how old is your stocker? Is it clean?

Yeah, I am making it up to be cool... don't be a tard. Why would I lie about that? With the stock filter and the K&N we just weren't making good numbers on the dyno. With the BMC it really woke up the bike; I'm no dyno king or anything, that's just the facts from my personal experience.

That's a BIG jump for just a filter. My guess is something else was changed. Were the pulls done same day, no changes (i.e.stock filter runs, remove and install BMC filter and redyno on the spot)...?

Thanks......Like I said, he was a cool guy and I have no complaints about him. To answer the question, yes it was in the trailer and yes it was hot outside. He had air blowers inside the trailer setup to pass air through the bike.
My bike feel fine, but I figured that I should put it on a Dyno to know how it is doing. Especially when I had a friend bragging about how his GSXR 1000 did a 149 to the rear, that just awoke my curiosity, especially since he's been wanting to race me.

Not sure what year GSXR1000 but the newer ones 08 and up are putting down 165-170 to the rear wheel. Seemed like you had questions but if all is good, keep the rubber side down and enjoy...

WoW, that sounds like a big jump. My filter is stock it is the original one, i clean it by blowing air through it with an air blower. I did perform the small airbox mod to the bike.

IMO, take it to another dyno. Why people continue to run dynos inside a small enclosed box still baffles me...

No circulation = no power....

Just remember...no matter how good the bike runs, you're **** is only as big as you're dyno sheet
I've seen charts posted from mid 170's to mid 140's on first gen busa's with the same mods....full exhaust systems and pc's. Things that make you go hmmmm

Thanks.... I think that I am going to try this as well. I am going to change my air filter also.

Hot out with more hot air being pushed past bike didn't help.Tire pressure could have been low & not centered on drum?bike not being strapped...
