Damaged Bike For Sale

Hey guys,

Well I had an accident last month and after a lot of consideration I've decided to sell her. She's already been looked over by a mechanic and he told me there doesn't seem to be any engine damage and the frame and subframe aren't cracked or bent. The rear plate on the speedo cluster was broken, and the front speedo cover is scratched up, but the middle of the cluster is intact and working. The fairing bracket is also cracked. The left handlebar is bent a little and the choke lever is broken. The forks are ok and so is the swingarm, but the gas tank has a dent and a leak. most of the plastics are shredded.

It'll have a clear TX title. Here are some pics.

Who looked it over?

I'm in North Central Texas, and the bike has about 8500 miles on it.
Mike at the House of Wheels here in town looked it over and put up an estimate. He's a local but he's been with the service shop there for a long time.

$4000 is not the firm price its just the ceiling, if someone will pay that much they've got the bike period, but if no one offers that then I'll go to the best offer.

i wish you the best of luck with the sale, but undamaged 1st gen busa's are going for $4,500 to $5,000 around here with similar mileage.

Clean Busas here are only fetching $5,500. That may be a $2,500 sale.... Hope you get the most you can. I'd love to make it into a nekkid 240 bike.

Cat has 2 posts, and may be the acute expert in his field, but the market right now does not give a **** about book value. Gen 2's are going for 7k, and '06's for 5k. If dude sells it for 4k, I will be glad for him. More than likely he will get more parting out. Why buy a bike that needs work for the exact same price you can get a solid one for? Makes no sense patriot.

When a bike is totaled, it is totaled, even if it is not reported to the insurance and claimed as totaled therefore given a salvage title.

The title does not give indication of the condition of the bike.
