front wheel removal

What kind of tool do you use to un-screw the front axle? I have a piece of 7/8 hex stock that will turn it but I would hate to ding up the inside of the axle. What is everyone else using?

+1 Got the stuff at Home Depot for a couple bucks... Here's mine...

You can go to the hardware store and get a nut and bolt for a couple of bucks. Most motorcycle shops have the tool for about $20 and it has 2 or 3 sizes to fit most bikes.

I used the same set up as BulleTrain, i got the hardware from Lowes and it worked like a charm!

Just used the nut and bolt idea. Works like a charm and only $1.60. 5/8s bolt I think

Fabricated my own using a nut (22mm I think...

), and welded it to an 18mm allen wrench (short end). Works like a charm and it fits in the onboard tool pouch.
