I have an early '99 Busa, 22,650 miles, that is now stalling while riding. I suspect the fuel pump, since it has the same symptoms as running out of gas. If I can keep it moving, it will run (therefore not likely spark) but slow sown for a red light or stop and it dies. I have to wait several minutes, shut off the ignition and try to start it again several times before it will refire. Last year, I had a similar problem, thought it was the fuel filter, and took the whole assembly out and cleaned everything and replaced all o-rings and it ran fine for about a year.
Now, there are several suggestions about an aftermarket pump. Anyone have experience with these? How common is it for these pumps to fail? I'd rather keep it stock and avoid issues. Are there other things i should replace while in there?
