Front Caliper Bolts

Good Morning,
I have bought some stainless steel caliper bolts for my 2005 model.
Problem is I cannot remove the old ones.

They seem stuck fast. Any tips wopuld be appreciated before I ruin the old ones.

The ones that are in there are already stainless.

Use a GOOD 6 point socket and they should come off. They are just tight

Dont think my originals are stainless judging by the way the heads have started to rust :confused2:

This question suggests you are actually referring to the rotor carrier bolts, not the caliper bolts.

Applying gentle heat and penetrating oil are your best bets. ASSuming we are indeed referring to rotor carrier bolts, use a quality 3/8" drive allen-head hex driver, and since they appear to be frozen in place, you'll benefit from an extension as well. I believe it is a 6mm driver, but you better check on that first - it might be a 5mm.

I am referring to the Bolts that hold the Calipers on! NOT the rotors

in case you need it later: torque is 28 ft-lb (p. 52 and 65 of service manual) FOR FRONT BRAKE CALIPER mounting bolt

The front caliper HOUSING bolts need a TORX bit (p.518) and is torqued to 16 ft-lb
The front BRAKE PAD mounting pins is 11.0 ft-lb

Not a bad idea to grab an INCH-LB torque wrench if you don't already have one. Best of luck
