Can you stretch the bik all the way out on a extended swing arm?

i ask this because when i put it up together everything was good but then after riding couple times the chain got really slack. my friend told me i should leave an inch space and i got barely an inch right now. I have a ride on sunday and i live on the us virgin islands where there is no bike shop so i have to order everything. i cant cut the chain until i get a master link so i dont know what to do

I left some space on mine when I put the extensions on.I had to adjust mine 2-3 times before it stayed tight.The chain will stretch some right away even though they claimed mine was pre-stretched.

did the axle move forward with mine I went 6 1/2 inch and have 3/4 chain slack

If you dont have the capabilty to shorten the chain immediatly once the chain stretches then you should probably leave enough room that you can adjust it with the adj blocks until the chain stops stretching
