so i was putting fuel stabilizer in my 01,went to start it and it was a bit cold.so it kicked back and then a bunch of grinding noise and look an the ground and a piece of the block there.so the fatal starter problem.is it fixable?

I dont know if you have any great aluminum welders up your way but if it makes you feel any better I broke an aluminum piece off my engine block on a VMAX and my welder was able to weld it up. its NOT cheap if you are able to find one. The weld job was 300 bucks but it was cheaper then a new block and hours and hours of labor.

may have lucked out.have a mechanic friend in Nova Scotia who has a friend that is an aircraft welder.he has welded cases that were broke wayvworse than mine, and came out fine.
