Gen 1 4-5 and 5-6 gear shift

Gen 1 4-5 and 5-6 gear shift :

I bought a Gen 1 with 45000km.

On the trip home I took it slow as I still have a cracked rib from a previous accident with my R1.

I started to notice that if i change up from 4th to 5th aswell es 5th to 6th, it feels like the gear lever isn't moving far enough and its like it gets stuck between gear and then suddenly pops.

I've changed the gear lever position and made sure I hit the gear lever hard enough and with clutchless shifts it still happen. If i preload the gear lever and change with clutch it sometimes stays in the previous gear.

What do you guys think it could be?

I am not sure, but could be shift forks or the 5th gear? Maybe someone with more knowledge than me will be along with the answer.

Most have 2nd gear issues. There is a false nuetral between 5-6, but if you are sure you are shifting it like you mean it, you should pass that one.

The only real way to know is to open it up and take a look. You would have to drop the motor and split the lower case.
