Hey all. Hoping for some advice for a recurring problem.

2005 Hayabusa with 59,000km
-Small Airbox Mod
-PAIR Mod
-GPS/Tre Mod
-Ti-Force 4-2-1 Hightmount Exhaust
-BMC street air filter
-PC3 -- dynotuned by Wheeler in Robbinsville

TB synch, valves and plugs all done last year.

bike runs a little rich. everyone says so. TWO dyno-jet tunings found this to be the case. everyone says tuned busa`s run a little rich to make power. ok.

on just everyday puttering around and cruising, no problems.

downshift and accelerate hard and there`s a huge amount of black smoke coming out.

i did an oil change 2000 km ago, and i just had to top off 500 mL. she`s buring oil.

i don`t ride her hard very often. i mostly just cruise.

any advice is welcome.

better late then never.
When I had my 2000 it was burning oil as well. It turned out to be bad valve seals. In my case it was caused by a broken cam which bent a valve or two. The dealership replaced the valves but never checked the seals. You could try a leak down check on your cylinders. If your valve seals or piston rings are bad you will get pressure building up in your crank case.

almost sounds like rings getting a little worn. did it just start this?
