Fuel Pump Problems

I think I'm having problems with my fuel pump. The first time I start it in the morning it makes a loud squealing sound. Way louder than the normal charging up sound. The bike also has trouble revving over 9000 rpms. Sometimes it will but not usually. Does a 2005 have a fuel filter like the 99's? Does this sound like I need a new pump?

The '05 has an internal fuel pump. Remove, clean the filters and replace. May help, but could also be the injectors.

I forgot to mention that there's been a half dozen times the bike would loose power, CHECK would light up on the dash and the FI light would flash. I would pull in the clutch, shut it off and restart and it would run normal for a well.

Does anyone have a good picture of where to connect a fuel pressure gauge? The pic in the manual sucks.

Turns out my fuel pump was done. I replaced it with a new one and the bike runs good again.
