Help with TRE

How can I tell if my TRE is working. I just purchased a busa that has a timing retard eliminator in it but the guy said he doesnt know if it is working right.

For me it levelled out the rough engine between 1200 and 3500 rpm.
Disconnect it and see if it runs worse is one way.
It also eliminates the factory speed restriction, so if the bike will do over 185 mph or so it is working.
