Modules on Ebay. Any truth?

I apologize for being out of the loop. After the move I am cursed with dial-up. So slow to to be active on a board like ours. But...I was looking through e-bay and saw a number of ignition modules claiming to add tremendous horse power at no expense to rideability or MPG. Have any of you actually tried these things?

I think I saw one going for less than $30.oo bucks??

I figured it was all junk, but was sort of interested to see if anyone had tried them. I would be a bit nervous to pig tail in anything like that to my bikes electrical system.

Probably run worse.....
