Looking at your tire....looks to be a 300. Your out of luck, the OSD is a 330 smallest kit. Have seen for a 360 thu. With your 300 the chain line is right into the frame. Even if you tried a OSD it would NOT work with your arm and wheel combo being a 300.

NOTE to all: if you want to roll a fatty bigger than a 240.....stay away from the jackshaft set ups and jump up to a 330 OSD kit!

They need to make a chain guard for those things! I have one question, with the front sprocket moved further out, won't that put more stress on the out-put shaft , the bearings, and possibly the case?

The new sprocket cover has a bearing in it that supports the shaft, I believe.

YEP you got it. THe orig design of the OSD has been around for years by Kosman but only as a output shaft support plate for drag racers. The orig support plate went inside the frame ( on the arm pivot bolt ) and went around the output shaft before the sprocket. THus supporting the output shaft from stress. NOW the same idea but on the outside of the frame with a big offset sprocket = OSD 330. Here is a pic of the inside of the plate cover AGAIN for you.
OK you might think that there is still a bearing to worry about blowing. THe movent on this is muck like the bearings in the pivot of the arm it self. THe jackshaft bearings in the COG has pull on it in both directions = FAILURE. Since the pull in only inches form each other on a short shaft..its very hard on it.

Hey Big rod. Like always u help me and i help u. dont get me wrong. U know i love the way ur bike looks and i like the convertion. but i just want to add something that i bet no one told u about. My friend did the same conversion. Now he hates it. He went for a trip to the speedway. He loved the torque but the next day hes clutch was screaming for help. He put a new one, and went for a ride around P.R.. He got stuck in a small traffic and the clutch was giving up already. Let me know whats ur experience with it. Thanks my friend. By the way. I bought my undertail, my dapincci pipes, my HID's And this week My dapincci air ride. I will be putting my bike today tomorrow after i recieve the parts. I will post some pics. Let me know what u think.

The way the jackshaft works it is being twisted within it's carrier bearings.

Great write-up.

Ill keep and eye on it. I have all 6 HD spring in my clutch now so I will watch. The fine adjustment of the cover plate is VERY critical. THere is a "well for get what its called" but adjustment to get the plate 100% correct to the sprocket..other wise it bind the sprocket and could fail the clutch like you said. ANother warning I had of not gettting this adjustment correct was that it puts pressure on the output shaft and can blow the seal on the other end of the output shaft?

Not my cup 'o tea but that looks like a well engineered part and you did a good install with a great write up.

Good job!

Finished the project. Used a 92gsxr750 coolant tank but had to mount it under the fuel tank. Could use a smaller one in this location, but this will do for now. Cut the fairing to fit around the OSD plate. Reinstalled the air-shifter to mount off the OSD plate.

All is good and running great

Hi guys i am new to the site !!I have a 330 osd on my 09 busa and had problems with the speedo ,sometimes it goes wild and sometimes it is ok can big rod eplain one more time if he had the some problem.Second problem was the bearing in the side plate that was gone after 3000 miles.I think it was the one that need to support the front sprocket. The suzuki dealer changed the way the sprocket was mounted and put a stronger bearing in so lets wait and see now.And third problem:why is there no chainguard for this set my whole bike need to be un greased all the time including my clothes!!

Looking at the OP's pics I bet a chainguard could be grafted on pretty easily. I'd have to see what guards are out there but one for an unbraced swingarm like off a Honda 919 would be easy enough to install, and all you really need to cover is the curve at the top of the rear sprocket and a few inches of chain. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about. I'm sure there's some sort of good looking chainguard like this.

Nice setup. I use chain wax and it keeps my chain from turning white. Is there a specific reason you are using grease?

YEP...new chains are like packed, dipped, and birthed with max grease...make the mess. ITs almost done slinging it now. Couple hi speed runs takes care of it.
