Default First service....

Hi All,
Just had the bike in for it's first service at 1000km.
Interesting to note that the Suzuki service guys put in Motul 5100 synthetic oil to replace the OEM mineral oil.
Apparently they only run the mineral for running in, then switch to the synthetic for the rest of it's life...

Expensive service for the amount of work they do, just oil, filter, chain adjust and check tension of external nuts & bolts...$280.00au or approx. $150.00 pounds

Cheers,
James

It takes about 30 minutes to do what they took a few hours to do. If I remember right it cost me about $45 or so for the Bel-Ray synthetic oil and a filter...

Hi,
Yeah, could have easily done the first service myself for about $75.00 au, but this would void the factory warranty, as according to the Suzuki warranty, all work must be carried out by a registered service dept. or the warranty could be void.
Really do not want the hassle of having no warranty should a problem arise, which is why I took it back to the dealer I bought the bike from originally.

However, I will be doing the usual oil and filter change between services myself.

As for the bike itself.....love it.
Every time I go for a ride, it still amazes me how well it does everything...!
For such a big bike, it really does perform like a pro.
A friend of mine took one for a ride 18 months ago as part of an article for a bike magazine, and he loved it...

Cheers,
James

I hope they don't talk you into a valve adjustment at 15k.
