any suggestions on good tires for a aggressive, heavy rider.dunlop qualifiers destroyed at 1700 miles

I Just put the Avon Storm ST on the King front and rear-190

They handle better then stock, and are a dual compound tire which should last longer.

I ride fairly agressive and I cannot out ride these tires so they work great for me.

I'm trying to hold out for a set of the new Dunlop Q2's. They're supposed to be available this summer. (Is it summer yet?)

If you must have the best, the new Dunlop Q2's are supposedly it, plus they should last a little longer than the OEM Dunlop Q's tires do.

For better handling reasons, I will want to go with the 190/55-17 size for the rear tire (easier turning profile + slightly taller). Plus I want a set of tires that will last at least 5,000 miles (I don't push it that much, no track days, no burnouts). Nearly all of the tires that are available in this size are pure sportbike tires that will handle great, but typically last 3,000 miles or less. From what I have read, the Pirelli Diablo Rosso fits my rear tire size, great handling and good mileage criteria nicely. Not cheap, but few that do everything well are.

Other good options with the 190/55-17 rear size include the Continental Sport Attack, Bridgestone BT-016, Michelin Pilot Power 2CT, and Pirelli Diablo Corsa III. These should all last 3,000 - 4,000 miles (rear tire wears out first)

Not many brands besides the Dunlop Qualifiers come in the stock 200/50-17 rear tire size either. But if I was going to stay with that size, I would likely buy the new Dunlop Roadsmart (sport touring) tires. Apparently they handle nearly as well as a pure sportbike tire (even better in the rain), plus give very good mileage (probably average ~ 6,000 miles). They are a little heavier than a pure sportbike tire, so a critical reviewer might deduct a few points for that. All of the owner reviews have nothing but praise for the Roadsmarts. Also in the same league are the Michelin Pilot Road 2's, but the closest rear tire size is 190/50-17 (slightly shorter than stock), plus they are a bit pricey.

Do some research online. Check out magazine reviews and owner feedback. One of these will stand out as the best choice for your riding style. My guess is that you would be very happy with the Roadsmart's in the stock 200/50-17 rear tire size, or the Pirelli Diablo Rosso's in the 190/55-17 that I am considering.

I just purchased an avon vp2 sport. it hasent arrived yet but I will let you know how it turns out. bikebandit is the place to go for tires if you know a shop that will mount a tire they did not sell.

Go with the Perilli Diablo Rosso's. I love them!!!!! It's like having velcro for tires.
