Default An APE 1441 DIY...by HPC (detailed pictures)

I will be the first to admit the last 1441 I did was not on my list of pavment wreckers. It is a stunning and sexy bike for sure but its not a monster. Darnell (owner) had mild funds at the time and I did the labor for free so I could do a little R&D myself. Though the labor was FREE for a friend we learned a great deal.

We may do more, I doubt it. He does not race and its time he got his Busa back. Still rock solid and track tuned. MR9 did some mess to the upper injectors, easy fix. A perfect weekend drag bike.

We know in Land Speed Racing you need about 30 more hp to gain 8-10 MPH over where your stock set-up got you and much higher the faster you go.

Well with just drop in pistons and an intake cam along with a mild intake and exhaust clean-up on the head. We got to 195 HP SAE and 117 foot pounds of torque. Stock was 173 on my dyno that was my very first 1441.

I am looking to crush those numbers with this build thanks to a another trusting member of the Org!:

KWS: "The Works" head job
Dual Cams
Stainless Steel Valves
HD Valve Springs
Cam Sprockets
Studs
High Pressure Oil Pump Gear
Brock's Alien Head
BMC Race Filter

I have a no rush order on this so it may take a little time like all my projects. Will start off with baseline dyno numbers this week. Then the head comes off along with the jugs. Will have pictures of the process. If there is something you want to see for yourself just ask.

Thanks in advance.

This sounds a little familiar to me. Could it be a certain already fastest color orange and black 08!

I had been thinking about extended tail since I had to raise her back up. I love the low and long look, wifee hates it, and I still have to get through this build with my life, as she still thinks I spend toooooooo much money on the darn bike.
