| Hey, Red...at this juncture, there are a number of people who've expressed interest in attending. Whether they ride or trailer their scoots to Reno is as yet undetermined. We need to identify a volunteer "Ride Captain" to coordinate the Charge from the deep Southeast, and if you're interested in this, please let us (me or Warchild) know. The responsibilities are not too taxing, but part of what's needed will be to determine when to leave Florida, which route to take, where to stay, etc. These efforts can be shared among the contingent riders, but one person should act as the principal point of contact. If you look at the website, you can see where others have stepped up to lead riders to Reno from their geographic areas. Another potential idea we're considering is the investigation and recommendation of a shipping company to collect the 'busas and have them in Reno for the owners to collect when they fly in. This is in it's formative stage, and little work has been done on this...further details will be available as we get closer to the event. Right now, we're working diligently on bringing you the best sponsors the industry has to offer; when they're secured, we'll commence work on more of the logistics. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to post here or send War or I a PM. Look forward to hearing from you again! ______________________________________ |

Using my Iron Butt Rider mentality, allow me to whip out my hand-held calculator! Air Ship: $644 each way - $1,288 round trip Distance from Nashua, NH to Reno, NV: ~2900 miles each way; 5800 miles round trip. For argument's sake, let's say fuel climbs back up to $2.50/gallon next July. Further, let's say that when all loaded down with gear, you only get 35mpg on the Busa. So.... (5800 miles / 35mpg) x 2.50/gal = $414.38 total, representing a savings of $873.62!!! Clearly, my brother, you need to RIDE to the epic event... it'll be just another part of the overall summer adventure! ______________________________________ |

[QUOTE=WarchildUsing my Iron Butt Rider mentality, allow me to whip out my hand-held calculator! Ok Gix...did you expect ANYTHING different than this response from War? ![]() We need to look into it some more, I am sure that some way can be found to drive the price down, the key as always is VOLUME.I think if there's a REAL interest and head count, then thats something that can be used to negotiate a cheaper rate...of course I'm not sure...I'm just sayin ![]() I think that the thought here is that MOST peeps would LOVE to ride this thing out all the way there, it WOULD really make it an adventure, but the time off work is a factor for most peeps ( me included), so yeah I have faith Scar and War may come up with some info later to help us gather up some options...of course you know ME, If you're driving out I'd be honored to let you tow my shiat in yo trailer ![]() ![]() ...we will get it together, worst comes to worst I'll just be the designated drinker..![]() ______________________________________ Last edited by Lycan; 12-01-2008 at 07:26 AM. |
