I'm an educated, caucasian male, and not only did I vote for Barack Obama, but I also contributed to his campaign. And many of my friends did the same because we saw the man, not his color.

I was born and raised here as well and am in the same group as you are when it comes to race and education. I voted the same way you did and for the same reason. But I also have seen a pretty distinct undercurrent of racism here for most of my life. This election brought it out more than I've seen in a long time.
