The TRE does not choose an ECU Map. It removes the timing retard that is on the first three gears and makes the computer think it is fifth when it is in sixth so that there is no rev limiter and you can exceed 186mph. The Power Commanders are the computers that you can add on that will allow you to reprogram your fuel maps.
